Parallel Lines

She woke up, rubbing her eyes
another dream lost, forgotten
On the doorsteps lay a postcard
wet from whole night's dew
lending moisture to her eyes
She stooped in excitement,
her spects broken
Another sense impaired,
Another reason lost
smiling to herself like a madcap,
picking up remains of last night's ecstasy,
fisting them together in her torn stole,
In the backdrop, a set of parallel lines....
on an endless, meaningless journey
stared at each other in helplessness.
