BACKSTAGE

BACKSTAGE

The stage is set to be set on fire
By the nervous faces and the showy attire
Lost in a dream is a face of fame
Bound by the gags so old and lame
Some have perfected a part of the show
Some are framed to look like a pro
Some are exploring the mirror to check their looks
Some want to steal the show, by hooks or by crooks
Bereft of these traits, without an expression on his face
Backstage he stands cool and calm, wondering why so much of a race
He knows the heroes, the villains and all
He has seen the performers rising, he has seen the stage fall
There is a curtain too, concealing from the eyes and the minds so keen
The charm of the backstage that goes unknown, unseen
And he smiles at the applause they receive,
but knows where the track was lost
While the eyes gleam with what appeals on the face,
he knows the curtain has borne the cost
Now the ambience is lowly, and so he cheers them up all
He is their mentor, the ‘anonymous star’ as he is called in the practice hall
The stage is vibrant-some say, has got the aura and the brilliance
Perfectly portrayed as some would call
The lesser dynamic backstage often remains unnoticed,
but that’s not what makes him bother
‘The show must go on’- as the gentleman says, from one stage to another
